Human embryonic stem (ES) and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells

FreSR™ media are defined, serum-free and optimized for cryopreservation of human ES and iPS cells. FreSR™ cryopreservation media are designed for use with cells cultured in TeSR™ maintenance media. Cells stored in FreSR™ medium have higher thawing efficiencies than cells frozen via conventional methods using serum. CryoStor® CS10 medium is animal component-free, cGMP-manufactured with USP grade components and can also be used for cryopreservation of human ES and iPS cells as aggregates.

  • Use mFreSR™ or CryoStor® CS10 for cryopreservation of human ES and iPS cells as cell aggregates.

  • Use animal component-free FreSR™-S for cryopreservation of cells in single cell suspension.

Mesenchymal stem cells

MesenCult™-ACF Freezing Medium is a defined, serum-free and animal component-free medium for the cryopreservation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). MesenCult™-ACF Freezing medium is optimized for use with human MSCs previously cultured in MesenCult™-XF or MesenCult™-ACF. Thawed MSCs have reproducibly high recovery rates and maintain MSC multipotency and expansion capacities.

Neural progenitor cells (NPCs)

STEMdiff™ Neural Progenitor Freezing Medium is a defined and serum-free medium for cryopreservation of neural progenitor cells (NPCs) derived from human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs).  STEMdiff™ Neural Progenitor Freezing Medium can be used to freeze NPCs at any time post-neural induction. Thawed NPCs have reproducibly high recovery rates, display health morphology, and retain the potential to expand and differentiate into neurons, astrocytes and other neural cell types.

cGMP-manufactured freezing media

STEMCELL Technologies' suite of cGMP-manufactured with USP grade components, animal component-free and serum-free cryopreservation products are designed to maintain high viability and maximize cell recovery after long-term storage.

  • CryoStor® Freezing Media are designed to mitigate temperature-induced molecular stress repsponses during freezing and thawing of cord blood and tissue, peripheral blood, mesenchymal stem cells, pluripotent stem cells, tissue samples and others.

  • BloodStor® Freezing Media are used for cryopreservation of cord blood and tissue, peripheral blood, and bone marrow.

Hypothermic storage of all cell and tissue types

HypoThermosol® FRS Preservation Media is an optimized hypothermic preservation media that is intended for short-term storage and/or shipment of cells at 2 – 8°C rather than at cryogenic temperatures. It enables improved and extended preservation of all cells and tissues including pluripotent stem cells, hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, and mesenchymal stem cells.
